Methamphetamine-why is it so addictive?

Methamphetamine goes by many names: crystal, meth, ice, pico. These innocuous words describe a highly debilitating and toxic drug. This substance is willingly taken by young people in nightclubs and before exams. It increases the body's performance, improves concentration and is very intensely stimulating. It is incredibly harmful in the long run. Addicts look many years older, get sick, and often lose their teeth . Although the effects of methamphetamine use should scare someone away, many people turn to it. Why is it so addictive?

Chemically, methamphetamine differs from amphetamine only in the one methyl group at the nitrogen atom. However, it is much stronger and more addictive, cheaper and easier to produce. Although it has not yet become popular in Poland, experts involved in combating drug addiction are sounding the alarm. More and more teenagers are reaching for "pico" to provide excitement and extreme sensations.
